Cayenne Spare Tire Kit Installation Guide

As absurd as it sounds, the Cayenne does not come with a spare tire.

It is an option! I wanted the spare and would have ordered it but I

bought my Cayenne off the dealer lot. All the part are available and can be

purchased from any Porsche dealer.

Note: You cannot do this installation if you have the second battery option.

I believe the spare tire option costs $170. How Porsche can justify the price of the parts is beyond me.

I really wanted the spare so I decided to get the parts. Below is all the parts as listed above.

Step 1: Remove the four nuts that hold the subwoofer down.

Step 2: Move the sub toward the front of the trunk. Notice the two hexagonal holes in the rear.

The rear most hole will be used for the blind rivet nut (see arrow)

Step 3: Place blind rivet net under the rear hole and push it upwards until it is all the way up. It can only go one way.

Step 4: Reinstall the subwoofer.

Step 5: Place the spare tire in place. If you have a can of tire sealant near the tool kit, you will need to remove it.

Step 6: Place the long spare tire fastener through a hole in the spare wheel and tighten it using the knob-like handle.

Step 7: Place the handle in the center of the spare.

All done!!
